new members voted in, Ivona announced cast & asks for some help, and more!
Minutes taken by Julie Mullen
Managing Director (John Mitchell)
Please keep tone on TC positive. No news on the 4/1 fundraiser. Wuchte asks about the issue of keeping shows open when they are making money. Yes, Mitchell says AC has put space between the shows to accommodate for extensions. For auditions, we should make sure people are available for the extra weeks.
OLD AC (Paul, Padraic & David)
Dark nights for Ivona and Sam will be announced soon.
NEW AC (Padraic, Jenelle & Joe)
Three cycles: July/ Aug, Sept/Oct, Nov/Dec. July/Aug is TBD. By next meeting, they will announce mainstage, dark and late night for that cycle.
Sept/Oct Gorey Stories directed by Pat Towne, produced by Paul Plunkett. Dark, fun, musical, physically stylized. 6 week run w/ possible extension.
Nov/ Dec Christmas Show A Dr. Jeuss Xmas, directed by John Mitchell. 4 week run. Secondary programming TBD.
Looking for ideas for proposals for dark night and late night programming.
MEM COM (Wuchte, Aldrich & Kathi)
Initiate new members into committee by show of hands. Jason Mullen, Frank Stasio, Kate Morrison. All three
accepted.
Literary (Ruth Silveira)
Ruth wants her scripts back.
Marketing (John Wuchte)
Email marketingdirector@sacredfools.org with any ideas for marketing. In two weeks he will have a new list of theater for postcard for postcard distribution.
Director of Operations (Brandon Clark)
Brandon gives info for doing box and house shifts
Finance (Jason Mullen)
There’s a new system in place to org the finances.
Technical Director (Kate Morrison)
If you can help us after meeting with moving stuff into the truck for storage, do it. And get your personal stuff out of the theater, because we don’t have enough room.
MY UNCLE SAM
Cast would like to invite company to hang out and see scene work, etc. Show looks great. They have all board ops.
IVONA
Cast announced
Dawn Stehlak, Steven Ruggles, Ruth Silveira, Michael Kary, John Wuchte, Adrienne
Picard, Adam Harrington, Taylor Sutherland, Katie F. Ward, Lisa Brando, Philip Newby, Kathi Copeland, Lisa Anne Nicolai, Mike
Karson, Brandon Clark.
In need of board ops and carpentry volunteers, set designer wants to start building in mid-April.
Jason Mullen, lights. Lisa Watson, set. Rachel Bickley, costumes. Opens May 19th. The music is going to be cool: Bach meets 9 inch nails, and the play is very stylized physically.
New Biz
Jessie & Corey want to stage a late night show of stories written when we were kids. Dig up your old stories and find your stuff that you wrote a while back and put it in the box marked “Kid Stories.” Make 2 copies. They might borrow the original to scan and project during the show if you are chosen. This is inspired by Jessie’s play, “Queen Bad of the Jewels,” written by Jessie, age
5, to be directed by Jessie, age 30.
David, MD & Ruth
They went to this BCT meeting, looking at ways to strengthen LA theater community, involve LA theater w/ Hollywood community. We were the only theater
company represented there.
JOE
Invitation to submit short, original scripts based on the words “Monkey Farm.” There will be a box in the office for this.
JOHN MITCHELL
Ivy Substation is available. Culver City took it back from CTG. John is putting in a proposal. The theater is available for eight months out of the year. $3000 a month.
BRANDON
Regular play reading series….should it go through AC or Lit Man
