Summary: Preparations for fundraiser, final fall
Dark Night announced, Ten Tops soldiers on, Music Night returns, and more!
Reports
1. Managing Director - John Mitchell.
Nothing pressing, especially considering we just lost Aldrich. Turns the meeting
over to John Sylvain.
2. Board of Directors - John Sylvain
Benefit on May 7th, 8 p.m. at Zeitgeist Studio. Previously the board has tried to do things without
bothering the company, which John thinks is “stupid.” But it was not secrecy, just that they didn’t want to
rely on the company. He passes handouts about the fundraiser.
Zeitgeist is 5016 Venice, on the corner of LaBrea and Venice. There will be a silent auction. $8000 worth
of art from “hot” artists. Jonathan Tavvs has been very involved in getting the art. There is an open
bar. Please publicize this event and get people to come to it!
Some folks will be needed to work the bar and possibly answer questions about the silent auction.
Wuchte asks how much the art actually costs and John Sylvain doesn’t know. Ruth suggests John find out the
starting bid.
Corey asks if want to sell tix on line. John Mitchell says we should probably just sell tix at the door.
Padraic says prebuying tix is a way for people to make a donation. So yes, we are selling tix online.
Stasio asks about parking, and well, nobody really knows about parking. But we know that for previous
events at this space, there has been no trouble parking.
2. Artistic Directors - Padraic Duffy and Joe
Jordan
Last dark night show in place. September/October: Kookamonga Falls, directed by David
Mcintyre.
Late nights will be announced at the next company meeting.
Submission deadlines will soon be announced for Jan-Jun. Spring Season will be announced earlier than
usual. They hope.
3. Mem Com
Wuchte reminds new folks to come see him after.
4. Marketing - John Wuchte
John gives stickers for postcards that say we have Pay What You Want nights for
Ivona.
5. Operations - Brandon Clark
Stuff in the refrigerator is fine to drink, but please pay for it. We have had some problems recently with
disappearing beer. Thanks for Jenine’s house shift duties. She has been filling a lot of house slots.
6. SAA - Julie Mullen
If anyone else has a mailing list, it cannot be up to date. Julie has the up to date mailing list. She
updates it from our online sales, the book in the lobby, and people who sign up for Ralph’s. Also,
Frank filtered it and got rid of duplicates. All other mailing lists are inferior.
7. Publicist - Phil Sokoloff
Tomorrow night is LA Weekly Theater Awards. We have a show up and Aldrich will be
memorialized at the event. Phil will send out obituary information to local papers.
