Meredith: Tell the Bees opens Jan-27- March 7 It is by Padraic Duffy. We
are looking for designers.
We are in auditions right now. Callbacks are next weekend. Shows a prelim
graphic design
16 in the cast. It was developed from a Fast and Loose.
Lisa Ann Nicolai: Actually 2 Fast and Loose. One was THE WHISTLE
Steve Tanner: If you had to sum it up in 10-15 words how would you describe
it?
Meredith: Itıs Padriac...An adult fairy tale.
Andy: We are opening up nominations for positions that are opening up.
AC- this is a 1 yr term there are three positions
Mem Com- 6 month term
SAA-6 month term
Literary- 1 yr. term
Does anyone want to nominate themselves for AC?
Zander: I am
Andy: Zander is nominating himself for AC
Wuchte: Can the present AC say what the yr. was like so we know what to
expect of the position?
Grammar: Maybe they can have some time to think about it
Andy: the election is slated for the next meeting which is Dec 7 and they
submit a statement to the SAA and nominate themselves to Andy
Wuchte:I would like to know the extent of the commitment.
Meredith: You program what goes on on the stage, schedule meetings, a decent
time commitment, itıs not exactly written/We came into agreement as a group
about how we were going to handle things.
Paul: Ideally, we select from proposals. We look for proposals that have all
the pieces together. We try to put together a team.Producer, designer, rights
and things change, We lose the rights..a script isnıt available. In addition
thereıs watching rehearsels.Itıs a case by case basis.
David Macintyre nominates himself
Adam Bitterman: I nominate myself ³solidifying his mad grab for power².
Macintyre: Literary. Itıs a nebulous position using big words that people
donıt understand. He fields submissions, in charge of readings, schedules
those and tries to find great new work. Looking into publishing. It is what
you make of it.
Lisa: Do you work with readers?
David: Yes, they are smiling at me
Andy: SAA. Runs the meetings and is in charge of the meetings and email that
goes out every week and between meetings with the help of Cory Klemov.
Someone thanks him for the wonderful job he does.
We all applaud
Andy nominates himself again.
MEM COM : A three person committee in charge of keeping track of membership
and activities. To help ³swell²membership to entice. To shape the definition
of this company. No one nominated themselves for this position.
Closed nominations
AC report: 2 things
Paul: We are going to have a postmortem for the fall cycle on 12-8 at 7 pm.
We talked to several theatres about how they have done there's and are
getting ideas. It will be for all the shows. Basically we think people will
read statements and from that we will see that oh, several people say that
one thing that keeps coming up....
Amir: Have the casts been notified as well?
Chalmers: Can F& L come under that umbrella?
Looks to Jennelle who nods in terror
MD Report:
Dan: We thought it was a good idea to give an overview, take stock, for the
last cycle.
BOD- longer than average to raise money
We thought going into ³Naked Holidays² that in was going to be crunch time
but last weeks of all the shows did well.
and the board did last minute aggressive fundraising. Good Fast and Loose
and the SAAB was sold and the cancellation from the venue made us 1700. So
we believe that the fundraiser itself will close the gap.
The board is acutely aware they need to fundraise to close it.
In general, we are in good shape.
Adam: Admin committee-there are concerns about how things are run .Run for
admin committee and try and effect change for the positive. Fundraiser is
Thursday.
Brad: Are we in debt?
Dan: itıs not appropriate to open up the books. There's no hidig.Itıs for
management to do. While our responsibility we answer to the board of
directors not the company. We may come and get your opinions. We are aware
of the debts and debits. It is our job not yours to worry about it.
Brad: We have been asked to help out and raise money. Who should tell us how
much money we need to raise?
Someone: There is no secret conspiracy
Brad: If these financial decisions are being made..If I start to work hours
fundraising for weeks on say the gift wrapping at the grove...
Aldrich: something in another language which means. Bull and spin. We had
charts and graphs. It serves a purpose. Saying we don't have to show you
this. We need to know. Do we have 40,000 in the bank or 10,000?Now itıs
structured.Don;t you still have to give a report
Adam: It's not your decision to make artistic decisions
Dan: to come up in 3-5 minute snad give a thumbnail sketch
Adam: We are not in danger of going under or closes our doors. We can move
forward and do shows. We havenıt come to you and said we need 4 names and 25
dollars from each person.
Paul: An inherit trust issue. A toxic level of mistrust. I trust the money
is going into the theatre. Lettin gus know about numbers-if we get concerned
about how much money a show is making we will be doing Neil Simon.
Chalmers: I donıt come to meetings looking for a line by line financial
review. At the postmortem, yes. this is putting me to sleep now.
Gerald: A fundraising manager was phased out because it falls on the bod .I
would imagine that would be fundraising.
Aldrich: It is a state law disclosure. He repeats several times
Andy : We need to move on. We decide to break and come back to the
discussion later.
Break
Interim MD Report:
Tom Kiesche: Standing here on the set of F&L I am reminded of how things
donıt move forward but backwards here. Please pick up your garbage. Sondra

So we need to do something with the old monitirs in the office? Can we
donate them to a school or something?
Adam:Is anyone using the scanner and the printer he donated in the office.
Brad; I didn;t even know it was there.I will look at it.Thanks.
Brad; Amazon .com .we make money.I will bring a chart to show you how
much.If it is a big ticket item let me know and I can make us 30% vs.
ten.Order through me.
Donations Report:
Phil needs assistance on his committee.
Memcom Report:
David and Aldrich: We have a situation where we want to be able to possibly
vote in two new people .They have submitted their proposal and met their
requirements.( I was confused so ...this may be wrong) they would have been
voted in.But they would not have been able to vote for the new commitees and
people voted out would because they would not have been voted in until
another meeting.
Proposed by Brad Friedman:A bi-annual administrative elections shall be held only after a
vote for new membership for the coming six month period has been concluded
and confirmed by company vote.It was voted on and passed 17 1.
If you are considering running make sure you have done your requirements.

Need board op.Shelly Wenk volunteers.
Smart,funny,gross show.
Lanahan: Auditions Dec.14th
New Business:
John Sylvain: 1st thing. Come see this. holds up brochure for INSTANT FILMS.
Over the past 4 weeks, the board raised 5,000.We hired Julie Mullen as
Development Dir. Julie is losing one of her jobs and we hadnıt gotten
anymore people.
Lotıs of things happened, the MD thing and losing the venue.Oh ,we lost it
to ³Goticka² yeah, Halle Berry and we actually made money.
Segue into something positive.
BOD is responsible and accountable for all the legal issues but it doesnıt
absolve the company of fundraising. It doesnıt mean we donıt ask for help.
Every 2 months or so we need to make 5o00 to cover our nut. Right now, we
need the benefit to raise 2500.I believe if everyone makes a commitment to
the benefit and if you donıt jump on board.
Faith is the organization this company operates on. Faith is the gasoline
that keeps it going and what made the impossible happen from the very
beginning. It is almost easier when you donıt know each other. Over the
years there is always going to be a time when itıs not great. It only works
if everyone is willing to take a leap of faith with each other. It becomes
harder when....Has anyone ever had a lack of support during a show from SF?(
hands raise all over the room.)Has anyone ever painted a set ,hung
lights, run a lightboard (hands also raise) Please, please think about the
appropriate tone with which you speak. Keep the debate civil.
Brad or Wuchte?: Can you define the development director?
John:Iıve asked fro money..facilitate asking for money or facilitate getting
grants.
Brad: Why didn;ıt you post it anywhere for people to see.I think it would
have been appropriate to post it.
Paul: Because of the matching grants...Is their a target in terms of
percentage of what we want.
John:35,000
Chalmers: I agree with the faith. We did take something away and that really
bruises the faith. It hurt the faith. That really drained the faith. We need
to get that back.
Brandon: I understand what happened and it didnıt effect me. Deal with them
and move on. Itıs so much would talk .Itıs talk and grumbling. It kept me
away from meetings. I wish the past would remain in the past.
Wuchte: The salaries. Look at the past 6 yrs. Our goals. that within a
year.I know it wasnıt a hasty decision. But was it worth it? That was a
goal.1000. When there are 13 people and we donıt pay 2.
John: Good point. Thereı s meeting our goals and sound financial
management.Thereıs advances on different fronts. I agree this should be
temporary.
Aldrich: Some good. We can have a debate and disagree. Itıs not uncivil. It
only takes 4 hr.s a month to debate. It allows people to deal with what goes
on. It should be contentious, not rude.
John: Rude but not name calling
Aldrich: Become part of the debate
John: I donıt have time and donıt get it all because of my spam filters at
work.
Lou: 7 bucks doesnıt make me or break me .It was a piece of art. Group mind
focused on original art.7 bucks doesnıt buy much.
Paul: Itıs harder to get SM and Board ops. Less glamorous and sexy
Did we pay the 1st year? As a playwright I got paid. Itıs a case of ending
your history. Iıd love to get back to paying everyone too.
Brad:Itıd be nice. Thereıs things that continue to go on that we are asked
to deal with. Trust me a year later. Faith. When and how are you held
accountable for what you do?The things we trusted you so far ...they have by
and large not occurred.
John: I am held accountable by legal by law. I know you called for my
resignation
Brad: I did. I do. When are you held accountable?I donıt think anyone knew
what that job was all about. You had an exhausted search
Chalmers: Exhausted search. See..was that needed?
I stop writing. It is a screaming match and I am over an hour late to an
appointment.....END OF MEETING/It is 6:45 or so
On my way to my car a new guy...first meeting is giggling turns to me and
says.² That was great! Awesome. see you in a couple weeks.² We didnıt scare
him off. He loved it!
