One Week Showcase Camp (ages 7-11, rising 2nd graders - 5th graders) - At Foolish Kids, children ages 7-11 will step into a world of imagination, creativity, and musical exploration! Led by experienced teaching artists, this camp is perfect for young performers of all experience levels. Watch their confidence soar as they discover themselves, make new friends, and bring stories to life on stage!

 What to Expect:
* Acting games & character play
* Musical storytelling & creative movement
* Costume & prop crafting
* Musical Composition and Ensemble Instruction
* A special performance for family & friends!

Two-Week Production Camp (ages 10-16, rising 5th graders - high school) - Advanced campers dive into our Foolish blend of improvisation, playwriting, design, music, and acting, culminating in an original, fully-designed, and student-led production on Sunday, Aug 2nd at 2:00pm. Experience the process of theater-making from inspiration to a full production!

 What to Expect:
* Workshops in Improv, Set Design/Construction and Movement
* A deep dive into character formation and collaborative play-making
* Musical ensembles for ALL levels with original music enhancing our production
* Collaboration, Fun, and Creativity!

Our 2-week camp is fast-paced, very collaborative, and designed for slightly older campers. If you have questions about which camp is best for your 10- or 11-year-old, please let us know and we'd be happy to help!

Meet the teachers!

Libby Baker has been teaching at the Sacred Fools Summer Camp since its very first year and loves watching kids grow and discover themselves through theatre! Besides the Summer Camp, she also teaches at Sacred Fools' in-school programs during the year. Libby's career spans regional theatres across the country, as well as commercials, TV, and film. She is also a writer and a developmental editor, guiding novelists from the spark of an idea through the querying phase at her coaching business, Story Guide.

Mara Hesed - Mara Hesed is an artist. She loves color and all types of paint. Mara has shown her large-scale oil paintings in galleries nationally and in her hometown of Los Angeles. She has illustrated 5 books for children. In addition to drawing and painting, Mara loves making dolls, puppets, and theatre sets for kids. Mara is the mother of two kids who inspire her constantly.

Emily Kosloski began performing in grade school in community theater productions and in classes just like this one! She has a degree in Voice and Musical Theatre from Northwestern University, and has been seen on Broadway in Les Miserables and in large and small regional theaters all over the country. She is also an accomplished commercial and television actress, having guest starred in many shows including Drake and Josh, ER, Southland and Cold Case. She has been teaching kids of all ages for 15 years in the Los Angeles area!

Marianne Davis Rago has been a professional actor since the age of 10, acting in theater, movies and television. Currently working on her degree in education, she has always partnered her love of theater with her love of teaching. Marianne is a lead teaching artist at the Summer Camp, and a teaching artist in Sacred Fools' in-school programs throughout the year.

Allison Tuthill is a pianist and music educator trained in the Orff-Schulwerk philosophy. Originally from New York, Allison moved to Los Angeles in 2018 and currently teaches general music at Elysian Heights Elementary Arts Magnet in Echo Park. Allison helps students explore creativity through improvisation, composition, and authentic music-making. She supports several modern rock ensembles at the school and enjoys guiding students through lyrical and instrumental composition as they prepare to perform live with their peers. Her teaching focuses on inspiring students to express themselves through music and helping them discover the joy of sharing their musical voice with others.
