AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

- Prepare a 1-2 minute monologue from a Film Noir or Noir-style film. (You can find many films to pull from by searching "film noir" on Youtube.)
- Women auditioning for Luna Luft should also prepare 16-32 bars in an operatic style, unaccompanied.
- Anyone auditioning for the Cellist need only bring their instrument and be prepared to play a short selection of their choice.

FOR COMPANY MEMBERS: You are strongly encouraged to attend first call. If you are unable to attend any of the initial audition times due to scheduling conflicts, you may request to proceed directly to callbacks if you notify the producers by no later than Monday, July 8.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

LUNA LUFT - F, Late 20s to Late 30s – Chanteuse and frequent guest on the Buster Friendly Show. Must be a pure Soprano singer.

RICK DECKARD – M, Late 30s to Early 50s – A world weary bounty hunter . He’s no-nonsense and jaded, evocative of the classic Noir detective hero.

JOHN ISIDORE – M, Late 30s to Early 60s – Pet shop owner and “Chickenhead” damaged by radioactive fallout.

IRAN DECKARD – F, Late 30s to Early 50s – Deckard’s wife. Depressed, Unsatisfied and quick with an insult.

HARRY BRYANT – M, Late 40s to Late 50s – Deckard’s superior officer.

RACHAEL ROSEN – F, 18-35 – Daughter of Android maker Jeffrey Rosen. Classic 1940’s Femme Fatale type. She will also play her android counterpart PRIS. (Partial nudity required)

BUSTER FRIENDLY – M, Age Open – A smooth-talking television personality worshiped by his viewers. He will double as WILBUR MERCER, the enigmatic messianic figure whose suffering sparks an entire religion.

ROY BATY – M or F, Late 20s to Late 50s – Gender Open. Android and revolutionary conspirator. An angry, aggressive presence.

PHILLIPA RYAN – F, Late 20s to Late 40s – Female bounty hunter competitor to Rick Deckard.

CELLIST – M or F, Age Open – Will accompany the play live on cello (with a looping pedal) and act, along with Luna, as a kind of Greek Chorus to the proceedings.
