BLOCK PARTY: The biggest curtain call in Los Angeles returns to the Douglas for a fourth season with Block Party 2022. Join Center Theatre Group in applauding the talent, diversity, and ingenuity of our community of 250-plus Los Angeles theatre companies. We're excited to remount recent productions from two intimate L.A. theatres - showcasing their outstanding work at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

THE ART COUPLE: So, legendary painters Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh become roommates. If this sounds like the set-up to a lost Neil Simon play - you're halfway there. The Art Couple is the irreverent new comedy about an odd pair of artists that may or may not have starred in the original draft of The Odd Couple. One is a Parisian clean freak. The other is an absinthe-guzzling, Dutch slob. And when these opposites hole up in a French country cabin for a creative retreat, the barbs fly faster than oil splashing across canvas. All the while, in a less distant past, Neil Simon is bouncing ideas off a mysterious stranger trying to come up with his next big play.

Written by Ted Lasso co-creator Brendan Hunt (Emmy Award® winner for Outstanding Comedy Series) and featuring a stellar ensemble cast, this send-up of dueling geniuses paints a portrait of the inner struggles of all artists - from world-famous painters to soon-to-be-famous playwrights. In the meantime, can Vincent and Paul get along before someone loses an ear?
