Art Is Useless When You're Being Mauled By a Bear

written by Alisa Tangredi
directed by Che'Rae Adams

a special staged reading
presented by Sacred Fools
as part of International Women's Voices Day

SUNDAY, JANUARY 21, 2018 @ 8pm

FREE TO THE PUBLIC! No reservations required.

FREE READING! A tragicomedy that explores one woman's fantastical journey through grief and subsequent descent into madness after losing a loved one. A series of encounters with beings real and imagined, some straight out of a Grimm's Fairy Tale, serve to move our heroine further toward the ultimate and unavoidable climax.

Performing on the Broadwater Second Stage
(6320 Santa Monica Blvd.)

The Women's Voices Theater Festival in partnership with National New Play Network (NNPN) and the New Play ExchangeⓇ (NPXⓇ) has invited theaters and theatre makers around the world to join them in advocating for gender parity by presenting unproduced works by women playwrights on International Women's Voices Day. The event will take place Sunday, January 21, 2018, coinciding with the anniversary of the revolutionary 2016 Women's Marches. Reading hosts find a previously unproduced play by a woman and, with the writer's permission, host a reading of the work for International Women's Voices Day, on or about January 21.

Sacred Fools is proud to have assisted in the development of Ms. Tangredi's wonderful play through our New Works Development Program. If you have any compliments, thoughts, or opinions about her play that you'd like to share, please send them to
