SUMMARY: In Chicago's early 1900s red light district, two
notorious sisters, May O'Hara and Lydia Summerlin, run The
Summerlin Club, the most elegant and exclusive brothel in North
America. However, this being Chicago, their exclusive nature
does not absolve them from paying protection money to local
politicians. Later, Lydia is incensed when May arranges a
sit-down with "Lady Belladona" - aka Maven Gillespie, the Madam of a far more disreputable
brothel, and who wants to see the Summerlin Club brought down. Meanwhile, Pastor Albert Pitt whips up a crowd in a
frenzy against both suffragettes and prostitutes – especially
the Summerlin Club – and a street fight breaks out. |
