SUMMARY: Rachel Gloucester, an unpopular high school girl in a back brace, wants nothing more than to be accepted by the popular girls in student government, though her friend Darcy can't understand why. Rachel is also the daughter of a wealthy and powerful family, and has ways of getting her way; she became secretary of the student government after her father blackmailed the principal. On her first day in student government, the other girls simply mock her, and shoot down her ideas. So Rachel switches the muffins the other brought so that student body president Edina has a near-fatal allergic reaction... and as she chokes, she accuses one of the other girls on council - the conspicuously Christian Gwen.

SUMMARY: Rachel can't let Edina die until she helps make Rachel popular, so she saves her life with her epi-pin; Edina remains convinced Edina was responsible. But Rachel has a new conflict: Edina's boyfriend Ethan is upset that Rachel's family pulled strings to get her the student body secretary job; he was voted in and was supposed to be serving alongside Edina. Before Rachel can make any plans, Officer Brackenbury arrives and arrests Gwen for the attempted murder of Edina...
