SUMMARY:  The Ladies, Aggie Sue Toledo & Melba Lynn McRae, are praying together prior to choir practice. They are seeking the strength to persevere in the face of a threat to the sanctity of Aggie’s family.

SUMMARY:  The church bake sale is complete and Aggie Sue and Melba Lynn are reckoning their profits. Gayle, the pastor’s wife, has sold the most treats, but that information is kept from her because she is a magnificent pain in the ass. Her husband will be taking the profits to the charity recipients in Mozambique, prompting the need for a substitute preacher. The Ladies are extremely disappointed to find that the new pastor is a woman, and not a green-eyed handsome man.

SUMMARY:  The Ladies go to church to hear the first sermon from the new pastor. They are met by their friend Linda, who is incredibly stressed out over her family and church duties. Gail is uber-positive about her husband having traveled to Africa on an evangelical mission. The new pastor touches the hearts of the Ladies... much to their dismay.

SUMMARY:  Melba Lynn's husband Paul is on his deathbed, and the Ladies have gathered at the house to tend to Melba Lynn as Paul passes. Melba Lynn's house is in disarray.


The Ladies say a prayer for Mabel that she will be visited by the Angel of Completion soon.

SUMMARY:  Paul has died and Melba Lynn is devastated. A wake is held. Brother Buster lets his true feelings for Aggie Sue be known. Gail's husband, the Pastor, has returned from Africa, and the Pastor loves pie.

SUMMARY:  Brother Buster has a home-cooked meal at Aggie Sue's house. Melba Lynn is visited by her dead husband and his special guest, Jesus Christ. Melba Lynn relates the details of her visit to Aggie Sue, who, after some convincing, believes Melba Lynn's vision to be true.


Mabel is visited by her dead husband and Jesus Christ while Brother Buster steps up his charm offensive.

SUMMARY:  Gail is planning the Christmas pageant at the church. Melba Lynn and Aggie Sue arrive to hear of the extraordinary visit Melba Lynn was party to. Melba Lynn's activities are viewed with wonder, suspicion, and contempt by various parishioners of the church. The news of Melba Lynn's holy visit spreads through the town like wildfire.


The word of Mabel's extraordinary visit spreads across town, with mixed reactions.


The news of Mabel's visitation sows jealousy amongst the Ladies.

SUMMARY:  Melba Lynn strives to enhance the Christmas pageant, but is ignored by Gail. Aggie Sue could help Melba Lynn, but is falling hard for the gentle charm of Brother Buster, and she doesn't go to the church to help. Meanwhile, Melba Lynn is sidelined by Gail. Melba Lynn turns to the heavens to aid her campaign of light.


Aggie Sue and Brother Buster continue their courtship outside of the confines of the church.
